What does a second Trump presidency mean for US public media?

How the outcome of the US presidential elections could affect the country’s already weakened PSB landscape

Donald Trump zeroed out federal funding to public media in all four of his previous budget proposals. But even when Republicans dominated the House and Senate, funding stayed constant. However, US public broadcasting is much weaker than it has ever been, both financially and culturally, making any cuts harder to withstand – and resounding support for public radio even more politically-aligned than ever before. Moreover, cutting funding to public broadcasting is one of the to-dos of the Project 2025 conservative policy agenda.
