{"id":930,"date":"2024-07-11T23:59:50","date_gmt":"2024-07-11T23:59:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iapmr.media\/?p=930"},"modified":"2024-08-31T23:00:39","modified_gmt":"2024-08-31T23:00:39","slug":"notes-on-ripe2024-and-looking-forward-to-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iapmr.media\/ripe\/notes-on-ripe2024-and-looking-forward-to-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Notes on RIPE@2024 \u2013 and looking forward to 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>12th RIPE Conference<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/ripepsm.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Public Service Media for Innovation and Sustainability<\/strong><\/a>\u201c was hosted in May 2024 by&nbsp;<strong>Nova University&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>R\u00e1dio e Televis\u00e3o de Portugal (RTP)&nbsp;<\/strong>in Lisbon, in collaboration with&nbsp;<strong>Porto University<\/strong>&nbsp;(Porto, Portugal) and the&nbsp;<strong>University of Santiago de Compostela<\/strong>&nbsp;(Santiago, Spain).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had three days of intense debate where we were able to share different ideas on and approaches to Public Service Media and, in particular, on the relationship between innovation and sustainability in PSM, both in theory and practice. Seven working groups discussed around 60 papers. A RIPE@2024 volume is being prepared, bringing together selected conference contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had the opportunity to&nbsp;<strong>visit the headquarters of RTP,<\/strong>&nbsp;where we were given a tour around newsrooms and studios of the Portuguese public service corporation after an inspiring round of keynotes and panels with a variety of managers from RTP and representatives of its supervisory body, the Opinion Council. The IAPMR community would like to thank RTP and the universities involved, and particularly conference host Paulo Faustino as well as RIPE Chairperson Gregory Ferrell Lowe, for organising such an inspiring event.
