Special Issue:<\/strong> The\u00a0European Journal of Communication\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>has just published a special issue (online first) on information as a public good and public service media in Europe<\/strong>, edited by Raluca Petre<\/strong> (Ovidius University of Constan\u021ba, Romania). It gathers six articles, which, among others, focus on issues of PSM and platformization as well as PSM and local news desertification. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Call for Papers:\u00a0\u00d6rebro University<\/strong> in Sweden\u00a0arranges a symposium on SVOD audiences and democracy <\/strong>in the European context on 23 May 2025, with a focus on audiovisual fiction. The organizers invite proposals<\/strong>, including on questions of public service audiences and society, until 1 December<\/strong>. The International Association for Public Media Researchers (IAPMR) advances contemporary theory and actionable research to clarify, support and facilitate the development of Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) and Public Service Media (PSM) as a vital requirement to safeguard democratic interests and practices in the 21st<\/sup> century. The Association links institutions, organizations and individuals in creative collaboration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n A world with strong and sustainable PSM serving all citizens and available to all nations.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n We collaborate with the Public Media Alliance \u2013 PMA<\/strong> (see our joint resource page<\/a>), with the University of Westminster, with the Central European University \u2013 the Center for Media Data and Society, and the Polish Communication Association\u2019s Karol Jakubowicz Book Award.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
